Characteristic Cycles of Localizations: Algorithmic Approach
نویسنده
چکیده
For a polynomial ring R = k[x1, ..., xn], we present an algorithm for computing the characteristic cycle of the localization Rf for any nonzero polynomial f ∈ R. The approach is useful to answer certain questions regarding vanishing of local cohomology modules H I (R), which is illustrated by our examples.

Parallel Genetic Algorithm Using Algorithmic Skeleton
Algorithmic skeleton has received attention as an efficient method of parallel programming in recent years. Using the method, the programmer can implement parallel programs easily. In this study, a set of efficient algorithmic skeletons is introduced for use in implementing parallel genetic algorithm (PGA).A performance modelis derived for each skeleton that makes the comparison of skeletons po...

متن کاملExperimental Evaluation of Algorithmic Effort Estimation Models using Projects Clustering
One of the most important aspects of software project management is the estimation of cost and time required for running information system. Therefore, software managers try to carry estimation based on behavior, properties, and project restrictions. Software cost estimation refers to the process of development requirement prediction of software system. Various kinds of effort estimation patter...
متن کاملLarge Spurious Cycles in Global Static Analyses and Their Algorithmic Mitigation
We present a simple algorithmic extension of the classical call-strings approach to mitigate substantial performance degradation caused by spurious interprocedural cycles. Spurious interprocedural cycles are, in a realistic setting, key reasons for why approximate call-return semantics in both context-sensitive and -insensitive static analysis can make the analysis much slower than expected. In...
متن کاملA dynamic programming approach for solving nonlinear knapsack problems
Nonlinear Knapsack Problems (NKP) are the alternative formulation for the multiple-choice knapsack problems. A powerful approach for solving NKP is dynamic programming which may obtain the global op-timal solution even in the case of discrete solution space for these problems. Despite the power of this solu-tion approach, it computationally performs very slowly when the solution space of the pr...
